this really depends on how many U.S.-bound flights are departing DUB in, say, a 45-min window either side of your scheduled departure

the SEA flight is one of the last to leave in the afternoon, so when we did this in Dec the backup was minimal

EI will not check bags thru across two PNRs, even if both flights are on EI
