Oh boy. This is a touchy subject for me right now. 🤪 I don't understand your situation exactly (I almost always book only with QR), but have been dealing with a very frustrating situation where the number of Qpoints/Avios I was credited for a partner airline flight (booked through QR, as part of an itinerary with multiple stops) did NOT match the points indicated on the Q-calculator/My Calculator. When I inquired about this, I was told:
"Each of below flight types has an earning chart for Avios and Q Points:
- Flights fully marketed and operated by Qatar Airways
- Flights fully marketed and operated by Oneworld airline
- Flights fully marketed and operated by partner airline
- Flights marketed by Qatar Airways and operated by Oneworld airline or vice versa and,
- Flights marketed by Qatar Airways and operated by partner airline or vice versa.
The accrual criteria are determined by the guidelines agreed upon between the concerned carriers."
However, despite my many requests and complaints, they will not or cannot produce those different earning charts. One phone rep even told me that the Q-calculator numbers are "just approximate."
I think it's pretty crummy that it's apparently all a big one-sided surprise what kind of points you might get. 🤷🏻♀️
