Meals/drinks aren't my top priority (seats/beds/storage spaces are), so I don't select airlines based on them. For transpacific flights, I've flown JL, NH, BR and CX, all in J in the past year. Relative to my prior experiences with these airlines, I'd say their meal qualities had all deteriorated, with the exception of CX (which beat my relatively low expectation of CX J meals).
recently flew JX J for comparison, I still think BR still has the best food. but their hard product is really deteriorating.
