While I’m sure the lounge was indeed built more for O and D and intra-gcc traffic, there are still a sizable amount of folks (and id say the majority) that are connecting from or to intra gulf routes from long haul points. And they had a good few months at the end of 2023 where they shut the lounge down where they could’ve potentially examined the shower issue. But alas, I guess now we will all have to resign ourselves with the fact that there will be shower lines at every Doha lounge during peak times, irregardless if it’s the silver lounge or AS.
To confirm I did get one in the end thanks to a three hour layover thankfully, had it looked like getting a shower was impossible I would probably have gone to try Al Mourjan or Al Mourjan Garden.
Sadly though, the pre-COVID days when I used to do CDG-DOH-BKK with 1 hour 35 connection and still have time to both shower and eat dinner between flights are well and truly over
