A bargain that weekend at $543/night all in.

I didn't realize that there a Standard there. I'm in that neighborhood regularly when I go to Joe's Pub at the Public Theater (and I think The Library upstairs -- a bar and restaurant -- is a hidden gem). Still that neighborhood doesn't jump out at me for someplace to stay. Then again, the Chinatown area where 50 Bowery is located didn't jump out until I started staying there, and I've really enjoyed it. In any event, I suspect the OP has made his decision based on price, going with 50 Bowery using points (which, as you can tell, I still approve of).
