I am not forcing you to book BA - if you would not buy a BA ticket what would you have bought and what would that have cost/ Consider also how much 170k Avios is worth , add £550.and then subtract that from the cost of what you would have purchased and then that would relate to the value

for 90,000 avios and about GBP100 I purchased an Australia to London flight on QR , so 170k plus GBP550 really seems like lousy value to me

TP seems to be GBP2211 one way business class - comparing against that, the 170000 avios is getting a value of GBP1661 , so 0.98p per avios value
