I stayed at a DT a little while back that listed a parking fee on their website. Checked out. No parking charge. Felt good. Come out to my car and there is a 3rd party ticket saying “you didn’t pay. We’ve recorded your plate number. If you do it again we’ll tow you”

Again, no mention at check-in.

Found a sign near the front side wall with a QR code that said “scan here to pay”.

So… mandatory charge (essentially) but no way to charge to your room or earn points.
