Had an interesting greeting on a recent Band 1 inbound to LHR. The Inflight lead welcomed me and the other 2 occupants of row 1 back, with a handshake, and explained that one of the crew members was training (for an IFL role) so she would be running the service by herself.
The "trainee" then did her own gold greeting (no handshake) and was fantastic. Her service was polished (10/10), but it all took quite some time.
There were 5 rows of Club with a total of 9 pax, on a 1 hour flight on an A320. Can someone explain this - what is the point of the trainee running the service on her own when SOP (I assume) is for 2 crew members to do so? For example, at least some help in clearing the trays would have helped a lot.
Not a complaint, just curiosity - everyone got fed and I got to finish the bottle of Pannier Brut on final approach with a couple of plastic cups
certainly on the A319s where there are 3 crew members the IFL runs the CE service by themselves. Perhaps something to do with that (even tho you were on A320)
