I can see the plan:
1. Sell Avios at what appears to be a bargain.
2. We take the bait and buy.
3. We attempt to buy a reward flight but can't snag one because there are now even more flyers with buckets of points to spend for the same seats.
3. We moan that we can't use the points.
4. BA 'Listen' and introduce dynamic pricing.
5. We can book seats, but what we bought is now worth less than before.
6. We moan.
7. BA justify the move because we asked for it.
Sound familiar?
btw. [Irony face] Many including myself have offers greater than the amount of spend required to earn GGL if we were to spend the same on revenue flights.
So, points and for some no status [which also makes it harder to snag reward seats] vs Spending money and earning status [and some points].
We are being played for sure!
