yes, it's SOP & is done for your safety, not just with CX but with any airline. Had it with TK last month.

If there's anything to appreciate CX for, the standard of their pilots are still very good & their safety standard renowned.


Edit: last month on TK after landing (following a go-around) a portion of passengers started clapping, so can't blame OP for getting nervous & asking, must be nerve shredding for some infrequent flyers
