CX 892 had to attempt landing twice
Heard of this happening to a colleague of mine on United years ago, but never since. I was on CX 892 today (HKG to SFO) and I was watching the landing on my screen. I see the landing gear pop out, we get about 20ft towards the runway and all of a sudden the pilot pulls up and we circle around again. Second time was smooth, but my heart couldn’t stop racing as the last piece of news I read before getting on the flight was the DCA incident.

Is this a somewhat common occurrence? I figure there might have been some conflict on the runway and I’m sure it happens occasionally, but it was just really jarring for me as I don’t fly very often.
