Nice write up! I've done the same...fly in on UA and spend the night at EWR (agree it's not a pleasant place to overnight!). And just as SQ tries to put you on B6, UA will always want to feed you into SFO and then to all points APAC on their metal. SQ's arrangements at EWR and JFK remain subpar...I don't expect any change at EWR but I do hope SQ moves to the new T1 at JFK.
