I also heard that Morgan Stanley and Goldman reps can "refer" you to get a Centurion card potentially faster if you have a relationship there. I bank with JPM's private bank and wondered if anyone has heard of them being able to refer to Centurion (I have their Reserve card but always have wanted a Centurion card).
