My entire team have since been pulled aside and told this is incorrect and should be travelling in Economy . Please change your flights (others are travelling different places)! I would note, the HEL-LHR leg is in Economy (although its the early flight on the A350, so I reserved a PE seat anyway).

When I look to change the ticket..... to downgrade (or indeed to stay in PE), I'm being told the cost is an additional £486, so total cost would be ~£1000 (original fare plus change of fare). Interestingly though if I pick a later transfer HEL-LHR its £1 to change the booking.
The price of the flight has not increased, if I was able to refund and buy a new ticket in economy (PVG-LHR) , it would be just £340....(on the economy classic fare).

I have no idea how this makes sense, that being said it looks like I get to keep my seat (why would you pay extra to downgrade), so no complaints there lol.
The price tag for a flight when rebooking or booking new can differ. I have no idea under which circumstances it differs, but I also experienced it, though never as emphasized. And when you ask CS, they tell you that you cannot compare these two.
