Indeed, it appears this crew followed SOP. What impressed me was the fact that BA catered the flight at 200%! They provided 6 meals for 3 passengers, 2 of each meal. Many airlines cater to 100% on their short haul networks (I’m looking at you AA for rarely having my first choice (when you bother to feed me at all)).

In my view the IFL failed here, deflecting the blame on BA catering instead of using a bit of nouse and offering the GGL first choice knowing there was a risk that someone might not get their first choice.
