Coming to a sudden stop from in excess of 100 mph, and not really prepared for it would cause significant blunt force traumas. There was a Northwest CR2 that crashed in Kentucky in 2005 ('06?) that was mostly intact, but only had one survivor because everyone died on impact from the sudden deceleration.
i would also add. I did a HUET course just recently, in a simulator where there was an exit next to every seat, the water was warm, it was light and the simulator was not inverted. It was still incredibly confronting and I don’t fancy most pax or frankly a lot of crew chances of following through the steps to unbuckle and get out of an aircraft cabin in less controlled circumstances
