Coming to a sudden stop from in excess of 100 mph, and not really prepared for it would cause significant blunt force traumas. There was a Northwest CR2 that crashed in Kentucky in 2005 ('06?) that was mostly intact, but only had one survivor because everyone died on impact from the sudden deceleration.
