I mis-read the post.
UA serves a PE hot meal on china akin to DL on their long-haul domestic Hawaii routes. UA also serves a full hot pre-arrival meal on china in PE on Hawaii-ORD/EWR/IAD.
Y gets a tray meal - still better than than the cardboard box AA serves.
