I'm glad I'm not the only one that counts the MANY Hertz buses that go by waiting for Avis at LAX. We did use the new facility in Dec and it seemed nice, but somewhat confusing and not even half open. They drop you off downstairs and tell you to go upstairs to Level 5 and when you get up there a sign says that the Avis Preferred is downstairs on the first floor. Then downstairs once we saw the sign and got the stall, we couldn't figure out where to go as it was not set up logically. Once they get some better signs up and people know what to do, it should be much better. Will be even better once the automated people mover is running and you don't need a shuttle bus.
