I've just weighed the exact same options as you, as I have an 8-hour overnighter in a couple of weeks, but without AS access. I've always gone landside into the city, but have had 10+ hours. Killed an absurd amount of time in AM and AS, but never a full overnight.

If I had AS access, I'd probably roll the dice on a nap room. There are about a dozen of them. Last time I was there late at night, they were all occupied, as this is peak demand for transfers at DOH. I could add AS access to my flight, but don't want to drop $160 without a guaranteed bed. The pods look pretty crappy and noisy for the price. I ended up dropping roughly $350 USD on a room at the Oryx.
