The 17.55 flight to ITM is the last of the day from NRT. So:
(1) Is all this reasonable within the 2 hr 25 min connection time? Seems tight to me!!
(2) What happens if we miss the flight, which is the last of the day? Given that it is in coach would JAL/AA do anything other than put us on a flight next day (i.e. not provide hotel or meals...)?
(3) Again assuming we missed the flight, who would we deal with? - I can imagine that JAL in T2 would say it is an AA ticket, talk to them, whereas AA would be another transfer back to T1, and in any case would be closed by that time!
I think you have enough time to do the immigration clearance, pick-up luggage, go through customs, bus transfer T1 to T2 and check-in for JAL domestic (up to minus 15 minutes before departure time). Upon leaving T1 you will kn ow if you wll make it or not in time to T2. If this is the case find an AA rep or their representattives (JAL) in T1 before going over to T2 and state your case. If it is a paid ticket you should be coverred for either a transfer to HND for your flight to OSA or a train ticket or a night in a hotel or a combination of these.
