Bad things can happen: the suspicious award ticket may be invalidated by airlines without notice, the ticket holders and/or mileage account holders may be put on the airlines' blacklist.
I’m one of these people who transferred points to an empty account sans activities beforehand. I purchased 3 J awards JFK CDG ZNZ about 2 months ago for myself and family. Reservation still intact.
Is there a relative window of when they would invalidate the reservation or am I “safe” at this point?
And BTW, I did have to pay for seat selection. I thought from reading FT that such is normal and as expected.
Thanks.
