Officially Virgin Australia is not part of one world and as such your status doesn't entitle you to free seat selection if your ticket is not 157 stock. It will depend on the fare your purchased irrelevant if QR is operating the flight. If it is 157 stock you should be able to get free seat selection by calling QR directly.
