I currently have a trip where all flights started on AA and still are on AA, and airports are all the same. But a schedule change forced a change in flights. AA tells me all things are in order they did not have to reissue under these circumstances - and I suspect they are right. Just wondering if anyone can definitively say when tickets must be exchanged versus just revalidated (or whatever the correct terminology is.) Thanks in advance.
The only guidance I've come across as to whether a ticket must be reissued due to a schedule change is on this page
AA Saleslink Schedule Change .There's some language about what qualifies for a revalidation, and if not, must be reissued.
I've actually had to pull the "You *do* need to reissue my ticket" card with AA because when I typed in my ticket number to the AA Receipts page, the open segments on my last ticket number weren't what I had requested my flights be changed to after an involuntary schedule change, even though my PNR showed my newly selected flights.
