No personal experience - I don't think you can transfer without a boarding pass though. I would assume you would need to present your boarding pass at security and I believe the flight connections desk is beyond security in T3 (IIRC).

Can you ask about a boarding pass when you check-in for your first flight? Or is it with another airline?
