So I have been having issues with attempting to upgrade reservations by paying the upfare, my credit card gets charged and then I get notification that I am being issued a refund. Happened with one reservation over a period of 48 hours last week. UA Chat informed me it was because the fare class was no longer available, but this happened over a 48 hour time period. I have ended up with about 15 CC refunds pending as presumably the Refunds Claims area at United needs to review. Ended up just changing the connection and all good.

Same thing happened on a completely separate reservation today.

So looking at options for upgrades on a couple of other reservations and PlusPoint options are available but no mileage options are available. I have never seen this before. Are mileage upgrades no longer a thing? These are paid tickets and I am a 1K.

Anyone else having issues with upgrades?

1. Payment going through and then immediately informed refund to be issued (with refunds pending);
2. PlusPoints upgrades available but mileage upgrades not available for the same reservation?
