Generally the US have ratified One-Stop-Security.
There are, however, sometimes reports where SQ25 from JFK got disembarked into the unclean area (3rd floor) with the exception of Transit passengers to SIN.
But I have also seen SQ25 disembarking into the clean area (2nd floor) with my own eyes.
If you're lucky everything should work out. - Otherwise you might have to discuss to remain in the clean area.
In case they disembark you into the unclean area, you will be able to remain within non-Schengen.
If you somehow have to pass a passport control (meaning you will find yourself in the Schengen area): if your passport allows it: you might just pass the passport control one more time to get back into the non-schengen area.
