Cape Liberty - definitely not Cunard then! And in that situation EWR is the better option if you were leaving the same night but if you were spending a few days in NYC then yes, it does not matter.

Aer Lingus and Iberia have comparable J products, and in theory you can use 2-4-1 on Iberia. It's just they have different approaches to surcharges on redemptions, so it's worth checking out, including looking at the Avios sites specific to Iberia and Aer Lingus, given you can transfer the Avios over (but not the voucher). You can also transfer over to Finnair - I can see much logic for you on that one - and Qatar - this gives you the option of jetBlue bookings, and they have a nice day flight with Mint cabin to LHR, in addition to the usual night flight options.
