Friend of mine and his wife supposed to be on that flight also. Smaller A330-200 and downgraded to Y both GGL.
No information and even police was at the desk he told me. They refused to rebook him due holding AA ticket.
And the supervisor was useless and not telling the truth.
Managed to rebook him via London to Madrid.

And how was the weather in Miami that night?

They started the trip in Europe so EU261. Iberia told us to claim with AA as it was AA-ticket. OMG.
