Southwest is now losing money. It has to. There are some small, regional airlines cutting into its profitable routes. They will start losing money within a couple of years, they aren't already. It is inevitable. If an airline does a cost analysis and figures out how much it has to charge to make a decent profit, it cannot charge that amount.
