Thanks for your reply. I've had someone else suggest the Conrad, too, so that's now on my radar. The only thing is, my wife has had her heart set on an OWV. If the water is best at Conrad, then that might win out.
I also just read a scathing review of SAII Lagoon, so that is firmly bottom of the list now.
I wouldnt stay at an OWV with a 5 year old, just my 2 cents. I think the water at all of them will be at a depth most suitable for adult snorkeling and I wouldn't be comfortable with a 5 yr old anywhere near it. Ask your wife what she prefers - an OVW or your child's safety? (In slightly less accusatory words
). Maybe do a beach villa this time and come back for an OVW once the kid is slightly older and can swim?
Also from your post it looks like youre looking at properties with points redemptions only, so you'll get a lot more feedback on the specific properties in their dedicated threads in the respective hotel brand forums/threads than in this catch-all forum most likely.
