Everyone on here can grumble, but it will be interesting to see how many people actually explore other airlines and truly switch their loyalty. LHR is such a hub for BA, that people will continue to book the direct flights regardless of these changes.
I booked a business class trip to Australia two days ago for April with Ethiopian.
These will be the first long-haul flights I've taken outside of
oneworld since I started flying frequently in 2005 and before that the only other long-hauls I ever did were with United back in January 1991.
This choice is directly because of the changes to the BA programme, as I would have done my usual thing and book with the cheapest alliance airline, but now I can go for the cheapest, full stop.
