As usual your trip reports along with Seat 2A's are some of the most detailed out there and some of my favorite reading.
SLC is a nice airport, I have flown through it twice since the new terminal opened and both times I commented to myself at how nice it was and how it is not terribly overpriced like other airports.
LAS has never been that clean nor nice, the concessions are not amazing either, it is one of my least favorite airports in the USA.
Hyundai/Kia products have a lot of great features for the money, I always try and pick a Hyundai/Kia product for car rentals because generally they will have niceties like Android Auto/Adaptive Cruise Control/Lane Centering and Blind Spot Monitor where as other makes generally do not offer these features as strandard.
I too am not ready for an EV in large part because the charger network is not built up enough yet and I still like the power and sound of my V8s and V6s, although I did just purchase a truck with hybrid 4 cylinder and I have been impressed with the power output so far.
Lastly and I realize I am probably droning on about Walmart and Palm Beach County, but my wife and I were recently down in Palm Beach County visiting friends in Boca and we had the strangest occurrence happen at the Walmart on Military Trail south of Linton, Blvd.
Back home our Nespresso machine died after almost 10years of ownership and we did not have time to buy a new one before we left to head down south. We were going to order directly from Nespresso, but our friends that we were going to visit said that they bought their Nespresso machine from Walmart on Military in Delray for less than Nespresso sells it and since you are picking it up, no shipping and handling, so Walmart is roughly $20 less than Nespresso itself.
While we drove down to see our friends, my wife ordered the Nespresso and set it up for in-store pickup, upon arrival as we were walking in, two young men, one with a camera and the other talking into maybe his cellphone ran into the Walmart. My wife and I thought that was strange, but whatever and made our way to the in-store pickup location to get our Nespresso machine.
We then hear loud talking and sure enough it was the two young men, this time talking to a third man about inappropriate behavior with a minor, it was very strange, but not our business, so we left with our machine and saw three Delray Beach PD vehicles parked out front and some DPD Officers talking amongst themselves.
My wife said, maybe we should mention it to the Police as it sounded like whatever the guy did was probably illegal and she walked over to the Officer and started to tell him about it, he said yeah that is Dustin and they are hear to handle the situation. Anyway, after some Googling in the car on the way to the hotel, it turns out that this Dustin uses the Walmart on Military Trail to catch accused child predators and after they are arrested, he puts the videos of the interaction on YouTube.
I cannot say that I have ever encountered that before.
Anyway, I realize that is very off-topic, but as we have discussed the Walmarts of Palm Beach County, I figured you might find it interesting.
I look forward the next installments of your trip report, keep up the good work.
