Incorrect. You go thru contrôle passeports at your
final Schengen port before exit.
They will board at the original airport without contrôles. Then at CDG, they will go thru contrôle passeports (this takes almost no time at 2G, seriously), and then go to 2E (hall K, L, or M) to their next flight.
