As for why this service, AF188 leaves at 11PM, so it's considered a night flight. The goal is to let pax sleep as much as possible.
Ooh no that was still specifically about AF181 (10:50am departure, the SIN-CDG part), not AF188. I'll edit to clarify it's all part of that flight
. For the night flight I had on the same route (AF257, 23:xx departure) it's indeed less of a thing due to the sleeping you mentioned.
