To be honest the primary source of cancellation at FLR is weather (notably fog many many mornings) due to the airport's poor location. Whilst I I'm not particularly keen for BA to fly their mainline aircrafts from LCY as those are a lot less comfortable than the Embraers apart from the stupid lack of power sockets in the latter, but unlike you, I can see how this could be good for the airport and local residents. Ultimately, flying more passengers with fewer aircraft movements is typically less disruptive for everyone around and I can see how the A320Neos (or indeed, the very enjoyable A220s, which are probably the best short haul aircraft by quite a margin at the moment).

I suspect that 320Neos would probably have a slightly longer turnaround time so in effect, it might not result in more crowding in the terminal, but it could make a number of gates too small. On the plus side, there are many destination airports where the E90s are relegated to bus gates, hopefully, with 320Neos, it might actually mean higher contact gate priority and thus a smoother experience at outstations
