Where have they backtracked? They said at the investor day there was no scheduled start date for this route as they have no aircraft and that they were surprised they got allocated slots so quickly.

Since the news about this broke they've also had the EIS dates of their next 2x ULR 789's pushed back even further by Boeing to 2026.

With the Trent fixed now certified hopefully within 18 months or so we'll see a lot more engines on planes and hopefully most of the Dreamliner fleet back in the air as these updates are progressively done. The actually issues are still years away from being fully resolved across the whole global fleet though.
