I tried to go to Christchurch this year (booking last year) but just couldn’t make it work, financially. UA was nearly $10,000 RT in Polaris. Also considered Air New Zealand’s SkyCouch as a more affordable option.

Then I looked at the cost and effort of public transport and considered the earthquake damage still evident in Christchurch. And gave up. Will follow this post though!
