A330 econ bulkhead review - 23K
Just returned from Zurich. Thought I'd post a couple pictures of seat 23K on a Swiss A330, as this was info I found somewhat hard to find. 23AB would have the mirror of these JK 'cubbies'. 22DFG appeared to have quite good legroom also, no cubbies, though I did not have a chance to test it. Only once did I notice someone cut across DFG to change aisles and it was a youth wanting to talk to the person in 23J (unrelated to me). I thought the extra space was reasonably priced at $104 upcharge.

Plenty of legroom. No stowage during takeoff or landing, though FAs didn't mind the pillow and blanket being stashed there.

Seat did feel pretty narrow (flew a UA 737 after this leg and that seat felt very similar, aka 17.3" perhaps?). Tray table of course was swing-up from the center armrest. Because the 23J tray is in a similar spot, the remote for that seat's IFE actually protrudes into the left hip-space of 23J by a good inch or so. I never used my remote since the swing-up monitor is so close. Screen was small, with low rez and the touch response was sluggish but worked fine. Forgot my two-pin adapter so had to use the very flimsy earbuds provided, which for 2.5 hours of watching was okay. If I''d wanted to watch IFE for most of the flight, I'd have really regretted the Swiss buds.

I didn't get much of a chance to look at 29DEFG, but that legroom might be a bit smaller than row 22 center bulkhead? It definitely did not appear to be able to function as a cross-aisle, so unlike some layouts on A330s (I'm most familiar with Delta) one really can't easily go from the lav pair on aisle 2 to access the pair on aisle 1 unless making the trek to the rear galley. Full flight, so there were lav queues a couple times, but not bad.

Also unlike DL, the Swiss cabin crew left the lights on, in a somewhat bright but soothing organgey-red tone for the entire 9+ hour westbound day flight. Wasn't a bother with eye shades on for napping, but also not enough light to read my book without additional light. That said, I didn't feel bad about having my window shade up a few inches (I've been mildly reprimanded for that on DL, which I tend to ignore because I want daylight to help start resetting my circadian rhythm) since the cabin isn't otherwise pitch-dark on the day crossing.

Food was fine, and about sufficient for the duration (main lunch on level-off, ice cream service halfway, small but hearty cheese quiche near arrival).
I did not go aft to look for snacks as I'd brought a few in my easy-to-grab from the cubby backpack.

Chicken, creamy barley, green beans, with couscous salad, roll, cheese and a cherry cake dessert. Real silverware is a plus!
