New Tier Points calculation on old booking with a cancelled flight?
Hi guys. I’m hoping someone knows the answer to this?
I have a future trip leaving the UK on April 9th, with the total trip calculated at 720 tier points under the old system. I’ve just had an email that one of my AA flights has been cancelled (there has been an exact replica of my old flight replaced, however in a smaller plane and new flight number) and I’ve been booked on this new flight.
Does that mean that my entire booking will now be recalculated under the new tier points system, as the e-ticket will now be changed due to having the new flight added in? I’ve only paid about £2500 for the business class ticket, so a recalculation would “cost” me about 7000 tier points if it is. Or, as the rebooking was out of my control, will I be able to argue the case that I should still earn the old 720 Tier points equivalent calculation?
Thanks.
