Just to clarify, as I believe something about this might have been misunderstood by FT'ers.
Hyatt merely bought the rights to the me and all brand. Thomas Schulz, Lindner's interim chief spokesman during the insolvency proceedings, reiterated that on Thursday (not linking as it was on German hospitality media).
Currently open me and all hotels (as well as some of the ones in the pipeline such as Berlin) are owned by the Lindner family, not Hyatt.
As discussed upthread, from what we understand about Linder AG's insolvency, the properties mostly affected are a subset of the Lindner--branded (with JdV co-brand) hotels. But this has nothing to do with Hyatt's purchase of the me and all brand name, but likely with Lindner AG's corporate and capital structure. An argument like "the me and alls can't fail because they're in the hands of major hotel company Hyatt" does not make sense because the assumption is wrong.
