Wow, I am almost shocked that Aegean couldn't arrange for a replacement aircraft at Athens of all places, in order to avoid having to pay everyone on the ath-skg flight a 250€ compensation and to also hand out free flights.
I also find both layover/turnaround times at SKG and DUS to be far longer than normal. In my experience, this usually takes 45min, not 1h20min! (though there's a chance of DUS also having slot restrictions due to the initial delay, but the layover at SKG was even worse and I don't think they'd be slot-restricted there).
I don't believe I'm eligible for 250€ as it looks like I am just below the 3h EU compensation range. But according to the crew, the delay was due to fog at SKG and a runway closure, therefore the plane was stuck in ATH, arrived late into SKG therefore arrived late into DUS.
Besides the one-way "free flight" they offered a miserable 8€ voucher - which gets you close to nothing at the crazy exhorbitant prices at DUS. I used mine to get chocolates since I had lounge access. But I do pity those without a lounge and had to get food at the airport (where a 375 ml wine cost > 10€)
Cheers!
