JL 3 JFK-HND (December)
The infamous late night departure with a goodie bag upon takeoff and then a full meal an awkward 8 hours after departure, which is still 6 hours before arrival. The main meal tasted surprisingly good for an outstation Y meal, though.
Contents of the goodie bag. I can't seem to remember what the sandwich was. Tuna?
Salmon teriyaki (maybe?)
December JL32 HND-BKK
Hamburger steak, I believe. Tasted good enough. More or less what I expected from a TYO meal.
January JL34 BKK-HND
Now why on earth does JL insist on serving dinner after takeoff for a 10:05pm departure? I suppose waking everyone up at 2am origin time/4am destination time for breakfast before a 5:40am arrival is also silly, but they seem to think that is appropriate for J pax. Maybe there are too many pax in PY/Y to allow for a timely meal service?
I think this was a fried chicken situation of some sort. Food both up front and in the back is usually pretty decent ex-BKK.
January JL10 HND-ORD
Standard TPAC main meal after takeoff and a smaller meal prior to arrival. Not pictured were a mid-flight snack beef bun of some sort (delicious), obligatory Udon de Sky (delicious), and too many bags of rice crackers.
Chicken stew. The other option would have been the same Hamburger steak I had the month before on JL 32. It was okay. I thought the bland fettuccini was a bit weird.
Penne with plant-based bolognese. Now I can never understand for the love of anything why JL cannot just serve a regular pre-arrival meal in Y. This pasta-in-a-box is unnecessarily unhinged.
