Staying here currently so thought I'd share an update. This was previously an independent hotel and has been reflagged as a Delta Hotel late 2024, after refurbishing the rooms and public areas (lobby, restaurant, bar, etc).

There is also a Delta Pantry, but it was still under construction during my visit. In the future Elite member will be able to grab snacks, drinks, etc from here.

Pros:
The hotel has a big pool, good gym and sauna/steam room to use until 9pm daily.
Rooms are refurbished with a fresh and new feel. Some Delta Hotels in the UK feel quite dated, but not this one.
Friendly and eager staff, all Titanium benefits delivered (except room upgrades as apparently the Executive Rooms all had a aircon malfunction. This hotel only has 2 room types, no suites).

Cons:
This is probably something you'll realise when booking, but just in case: although the hotel's name is 'Colchester', it's actually on the outskirts of town and quite a drive from the centre.
The restaurant was OK, but the menu and service all felt a little random and not that well-organised. There was no drinks menu or cocktail list, for example.
Chromecast etc. not (yet?) available on the TVs.
No coffee machines in the room.
