Problem is, since domestic flights earn 2.5 less XP though, you would get more XP with KL connections.Long hauls with AF are going to be pricey from France too. Starting in BCN, GOA etc. should help if you have the option.
I think that it is almost universal that airlines charge considerably more than from elsewhere. A year or so ago I flew to EZE with Air France from Lisbon off all places. They have a very good fare for £1760 in J whereas from CDG they wanted nearly £4000. Both of the Long Haul and the inter-europe delighted me. The only comment that I would make about CDG is that I never realised how immense it is!
