How about 7A/8A for daytime flight for a bit of communication if standing and a bit of window view? Alternative would be even row A-D, but that doesn't seem much better.
The odd A/even A or odd L/even L combos are good for daytime or overnight. Sure, the even A and L seats are somewhat an aisle seat but for privacy sake (and talking) there’s no one between you.
