You can ask at check in at DOH whether they have upgrade availability and use your partner's qcredits if they do. The offers that you might get before your flight are cash upgrade offers. These tend to be pricey, sometimes more than what it would have cost to purchase business outright.
Since we will be flying from HND to DOH on JAL, and DOH to BER on QA - do we check for upgrade availability at HND or during our 4 hour layover in DOH? If DOH, where is the best place to see if this is possible? I believe they have a special booth for this?
