I agree with your 100%. I live in Ontario, Canada and the LCBO, the government liquor store which is the only place to buy alcohol in the province regularly shills for some charity be it Sick Kids Hospital, United Way or whatever...I can't stand being peppered every time to 'contribute' something...like can't I just buy my vodka? This is kind of the same thing...why do I need Marriott deciding for me what charity(s) I want to contribute to, and I paid to stay at a hotel not to be shaken down for your philanthropic gain...clearly my $1 goes to Marriott saying "we contributed $xmillion last year to children's charities".
