Our family is going to be visiting Shanghai for 4-5 nights next August. While I have been to Shanghai a couple of times before we had a kid, my sense was that our previous options (Les Suites Orient and the Fairmont Peace Hotel), while nice, probably would not pass the test for being the most kid-friendly (or being the most accessible to mass transit - I do recall having to walk a decent amount to get to the subway for both hotels). I was curious if anyone had recommendations on higher-end hotels to stay on either side of the Huangpu that were fairly centrally-located that also (preferably) had suites or larger room accommodations. So far, my leading choice, based on my own diligence, is the Pudong Shangri-La, but if any other folks have firsthand experience there or any other locations, it would be great to hear.
