As per the AF
website it should be booked under Y, B, M or U, K, H (which would accrue more miles). This is ridiculous. Anyone know how this works? Why is the fare class different from the one on the website?
Very disappointing experience.
I'm not even sure that webpage is fully up-to-date tbh. Besides, they can always change the structure to be whatever they want, since you are buying what is written on the ticket conditions and not on a particular page.
You're able to view the class that the fare will book into before paying for it. As an example, when you get to the overview page:
You can click the
view trip details and fare conditions button, to find the fare class:
Here the fare basis is KGK0AFFA, which indicates the booking class K. The first letter in the AFKL fare basis codes are always the booking class.
Just for an experiment, the fare I posted above is also Economy Flex, with full refund in case of cancelation, and it books into classes K and R. So that table you posted on their website is definitely out of date.
Not sure if you know, but if you just bought the ticket and are unhappy with it, you can cancel it for full-refund within the first 24hrs of purchase (as long as your trip is not within 24hrs). Of course, if you have a real flex ticket, you can cancel and receive a full refund anytime before the departure of your first flight.
